Bristol's Battle for Club Kids
September 14, 2016
Bristol's Battle for Club Kids is officially over and we would like to congratulate BOTH clubs for their wins! Tennessee won the Donation Battle and Virginia won the Fitness Competition.
After all the money was counted from webpage donations, Moe's donations and the Hokies/Smokies Golf Tournament, we are proud to announce the Tennessee Club as the winner of the Donation Battle with $10,601.09. Virginia was a close second totaling $10, 420.60. We collected a total of $21,021,69. That is a win for everyone! The Tennessee Unit will be presented with a trophy to display in their club.
On Thursday, Sept. 8, the kids battled on the fields playing Kickball, Capture the Flag, Physical Tic-Tac-Toe and Relay Races. Both teams practiced good sportsmanship and enjoyed some friendly competition between the states. The Virginia Club won the Fitness Battle and was presented a trophy on that day. We had so much fun that we are considering making it an annual event!
Thanks to everyone who made both of these battles possible for our Club Kids. The official Battle for Club Kids may be over, but there is an on-going battle for the children in our community. If you would like to help keep kids off the streets and give them a safe place to come after school, you may still donate to your favorite team by clicking on the link below.
